CD ROM and CD Read/Write (CD R/W)
The CD is one of the most innovative and convenient ways to store computer programs and data. The data that is stored in one standard CD disk would fill 465 3.5" floppy disks.
In the past, programs usually came on 1 to 8 floppy disks. Now many programs come on 1 or more CDs. While size of the programs have gotten much larger, the reason that so much data comes with the program is that the authors of the software now often include the owner's manual and tutorials on the CD.
Now it is not enough to be able to retrieve what is on the CD that you
purchase, you may also want the ability to write or record data on hem. The CD R/W
(read / write) allows you to do just that. Click me
to learn a bit about CD R/Ws.
