Software Installation
Software installation? Don't you just put the disk in the computer, answer a few questions, and go to lunch while the computer does the rest?
You could do that; however, haphazard installation and its results can be costly. In the old days before Microsoft Windows, installing software was a nice and tidy process, similar to opening a drawer in a file cabinet and putting the program in a file..
Well isn't progress nice, now we open the file cabinet and put pieces of the program all over the place. The problem with this is that your precious data is often stored all over the computer.
When we install software, we will:

De-fragment the hard drive. |

Back-up the data files of programs to be updated. |

reinstall software as necessary.
